my first XMPP server is in this picture. and being a very amateurish admin, I did not suspect it could be a provider issue for about 2 hours, trying to understand what was wrong in my home network settings and/or my ssh config. fun memories :)

I also learned that lesson the hard way with a shady host many years ago

I learnt it at age four or five or so

when I confused a .lnk (on windows..) for the real thing

and deleted the real thing

I had some sort of backups, but they were so old that I didn't bother trying to restore them. Recreating the accounts seemed easier. I only have friends and family on my XMPP server, so it's OK...

vclub.tel: hi all, I operate a personal xmpp server to let my family in Iran contact other family members abroad. It's ejabberd. It works fine except that I noticed, I can not make omemo calls, unless I first make an unencrypted call first (both ends have to choose unencrypted calls once using conversation android). Is it expected or my server (at mehdix.org) it misconfigured? Last but not least thank you for keeping this corner of the internet alive :)
