anyone noticed any problems with nixnet server this morning?

gajim says that it will connect over plain for some reason

If it's only Gajim, you could try restarting it

I've seen it incorrectly cache assumptions about servers (e.g. if it encounters any kind of disconnect while negotiating TLS, it might assume TLS is unavailable). But that was years ago, so I don't know if it's still a thing.

It's not something I would generally recommend, and I'm strongly considering restricting public MUC creation

I suspect there have been more cases of people accidentally creating public MUCs on Snikket servers than there are people actually intending to create one

The Snikket apps do not have sufficient moderation capabilities to admin a public channel effectively, and it's not a priority for the project (even if moderation tooling is something I do work on separately)

In any case, if you want to ban a domain from a MUC, you can easily do that (though possibly not from the Snikket apps, I haven't tried)
