rain: not sure what to thing about https://jabberworld.info/servers/ Yes, anyone can do it, but is there a reason too? Did you see the https://xmppnetwork.goodbytes.im initiative?

  2. Licaon_Kter

That one has some clear guidelines, bugs aside lol.

  3. rain

    No, never seen it before

  4. luca

Anyone know an alternative to clix for archiving messages? Alternatively has anyone gotten clix to run and have a recepie for it or something?

  5. snikket dot deeeeee

Interesting, there are servers listed that are not public announced anywhere, I wonder how they got that list

  6. rain

snikket dot deeeeee: https://jabberworld.info/Список_работающих_публичных_серверов_Jabber - here is the sources at the bottom of page.

  7. Licaon_Kter

Or scraping file upload urls works too, I guess, as I don't announce mine or put it on random lists...

  8. Licaon_Kter

Can you trace from which list? rain

  9. Licaon_Kter

(At least 2 are no longer there to look at)

  10. rain

For now most of servers are from https://xmpp.love

  11. amarachi

those lists are missing quite a few

  12. snikket dot deeeeee

I bet they do, but still there must have been some effort to get these addresses, for servers nowhere announced. Smells like help for spammers, well.

  13. amarachi

ephemeral/introduction jids and per-muc jids would be nice to have

  14. amarachi

    on-topic: these servers still don't support tls1.3 jabber.org, lu.net.eu.org, xabber.org, anonym.im (((

  15. snikket dot deeeeee

Well, I wouldn't want federate with most of them anyway 🙂, and jabber.org might be there one day maybe

  16. amarachi

is it common to have an allowlist approach to fededration?

  17. snikket dot deeeeee

Not really, some do it in email maybe.
