    from ejabberd docs ^, the README on prosody website doesnt say this, however. it just says it logs the conversations of chatrooms.

    do some servers not store ban reasons in the backend?

    My client is able to retrieve and store ban reasons, but any time i set one and close the muc admin tool, reopen it, the reason is blank again
