Maybe some kind of DNS records for which one points at a faulty thing?

Martin, if you test a few times, do you get some fail and some succeed?

I keep getting a 404 when sending an xmpp ping to mohrie.net

I tested several times and it worked everytime so far. Only LegacyIP seems to be pretty slow for mohrie.net.

I assume you are referencing IPv4 correct?

unfortunately Openfire doesnt let me test each protocol separately

prosody used to have a bug that direct TLS would kinda break on cert upgrades, did the whole server get restarted?

icebound.dev: I didn't measure the time, but >5s, maybe even >10s which is pretty slow.

This is insane and many operating system downstreams override this as part of the packaging and porting, however not all do such as FreeBSD. This can be changed through cmdline. ↺
