The code is there. You can wait for others or if you want it now you can finish the work yourself. Thats how open source works. Thankfully biboumi has a pretty clean and simple to understand codebase.

  3. icebound.dev

a lot of distros, and then bsd's as well do not like having to massively patch codebases to get them usable.

  4. icebound.dev

yes it could be possible to patch it botan3, but then you are also missing all the patches in the last year which comes with it

  5. icebound.dev

what is needed is a security release.

  6. icebound.dev

tom, best you can do is make an issue and ask for a security release for the botan3 migration

  7. jprjr

Got a general question - how do people manage stickers and sticker packs? Like are there any clients that support adding stickers, or tools/modules for it?

  8. moparisthebest

    cheogram android supports them

  9. icebound.dev

    ditto monocles

  10. icebound.dev

personally I have never used stickers, and likely never will, I dont see the point of them

  11. jprjr

Thanks moparisthebest and icebound.dev I'll check those out.

  12. jprjr

Tried both. Couldn't find them in cheogram. Could in monocles. But I'm unsure how to define and upload sticker packs to my own server, which is my ultimate goal

  13. moparisthebest

oh, well iirc they aren't tied to servers in any way

  14. jprjr

Oh like these aren't XEP-0449 stickers? I haven't looked into it yet but when the app offered to download default stickers I figured it was publishing a pack via PEP on my account

  15. jprjr

Need to get on my desktop and check if that's what happened but I'm beginning to think no

  16. moparisthebest

nope just a hardcover list of sticker packs on the client, and you can add your own
