though im less worried about the sending to xmpp part, how are yall getting the notification in the first place? just polling that systemd file that tells you (i forgor) or what

The unattended-upgrades configuration file has a spot for an email address. It sends an email to that address whenever it does something meaningful.

If/when you work out a nice way to do it. Can you let me know 😁

I'm not aware of any option to execute a custom command, but that doesn't mean there isn't one.

jjj333_p [pain.agency]: like I wrote above, you can use mailrise.

Theres been reports of people buying xmpp domains to hold them to prevent XMPP servers being ran on it. A small group of Romanians want to run a public provider as "xmpp.ro" but unfortunately someone has buyed the domain and is holding it, and refuses to do anything with it, and currently there doesn't seem to be a price he will hand it over for.

This is really scummy, but unfortunately nothing you can do about it. If people want xmpp domains i would recommend you pick em up now before this issue gets worse.

A domain with xmpp in it is pretty boring. I'm surprised they want it but evenore surprised that a squatter wants it
