  1. emus

Hello, I wanted to ask if you are okay with the proposal?

  2. Guus

Hi emus: to be clear: the proposal is to spend approximately 500 + 100 + 60 + 10 euro for promotional material (mostly stickers)?

  3. emus

    Yes

  4. Guus

I am OK with that. One small side note: I really like the idea of creating posters. That said, I'm a bit concerned about the tone of the current message for posters on our wiki: "Isn't XMPP dead?" "No. Ever heard of Fortnite?" It might come across as dismissive.

  5. Guus

I think it would be good to rephrase that (although I don't know in what state the design of the poster is?). Maybe something like: "Think XMPP is dead? Think again! Itโ€™s alive in apps, games, and services you use every day."

  6. Guus

"XMPP: alive and kicking! It's quietly making your favorite apps and games work."

  7. Guus

These ideas counter a possible impression of XMPP being outdated, assuming thatโ€™s the tone you want for the posters.

  8. Guus

I would be open to completely different messages, too.

  9. Guus

    XMPP: Open. Reliable. Everywhere.

Your messages, your way. XMPP delivers.

  11. arne

Hi Guus, the first impression for me was actually the same

  12. emus

Guus: take not that is is just an idea that someone opened. I like the idea of posters, though I would do it in a different way. Im very much in favor coming from what we can do and the value we bring not based ok any dead or alive impressions.

  14. emus

The problem with the post is, that I dont know where to put it

  15. Guus

Well, then lets not focus on that for now. The stickers obviously are a larger concern.

  16. arne

I try to ask someone for creating a poster. (But the chances that the person really makes it are low)

    > "XMPP: alive and kicking! It's quietly making your favorite apps and games work.โ€ This is a much more positive framing, to my mind.
