I thought the conversation about MUC versus IRC usage was interesting yesterday.
-
niek@bergnetworks.com
As for the part about bouncers, people continually staying online to be able to see the messages left in a MUC... what I'd like to see is a XEP that would allow dynamic requesting of backlogs.
-
niek@bergnetworks.com
E.g. a user scrolls up in the MUC room up to the part where the client has no more information on top anymore, so the client sends a request for more history.
-
niek@bergnetworks.com
Then the client could add that to the scrollback.
-
niek@bergnetworks.com
One IRC client I use, Quassel IRC, handles it like that.
-
niek@bergnetworks.com
It would require the server to log the room though.
-
MattJ
niek@bergnetworks.com: That's exactly what we were discussing until after midnight last night ;)
-
MattJ
Plan is to discuss it tomorrow
-

MattJ: In that case, keep me posted.
