https://twitter.com/oej/status/448370959935102976 -- this one sounds really interesting

  2. edhelas

    hi :)

  3. edhelas

I've posted this morning a new mail on the ML

  4. ralphm

simont: was that Coversations reconnecting dozens of times?

  5. simon

Hi - apologies for the MUC reconnect madness - that was Conversations on my mobile.

  6. ralphm

simon: hmm, if only there was a way to remain in a room across reconnects. The misnamed 'nick sharing' comes to mind.

  7. edhelas

    hi back

  8. edhelas

    stpeter: hi !

  9. stpeter

    hi edhelas

  10. edhelas

    how are you ? :)

  11. stpeter

    ok

  12. stpeter

    not feeling too well today

  13. edhelas

    sick ?

  14. stpeter

    a little

  15. edhelas

ok :/ I have a couple of questions to ask

  16. edhelas

Is there a way to add my client on this page ? http://xmpp.org/xmpp-software/clients/

  17. Lloyd

email the dev list and request it to be, or someone here might be able to help too.

  18. edhelas

    ok :)

  19. edhelas

    Lloyd: it's jdev@jabber.org ?

  20. Lloyd

    yes

  21. Lloyd

Make sure you are subscribed to the list or it will disappear into the ether

  22. stpeter

edhelas: we've had trouble WordPress and can't add new clients to the list

  23. edhelas

stpeter: ok :) tell be when the issue will be fixed

  24. stpeter

edhelas: when we switch from WordPress to the static site we're building :(

  25. edhelas

you'll not use a CMS like drupal ?

  26. MattJ

    If I didn't laugh I'd cry

  27. edhelas

    or whatever :D

  28. MattJ

edhelas, we've used just about every possible technology for our sites by now... the only one that worked reliably without lots of admin hassle was generating static pages

  29. stpeter

    yeah

  30. stpeter

    plus I don't trust PHP

  31. intosi

MattJ: only thing we haven't tried so far is a custom HTTP daemon that will serve statically compiled-in web pages (for performance reasons, obviously)

  32. Zash

intosi: Let me tell you about Prosodys mod_http_files ;)

  33. MattJ

    intosi, Node.js?

  34. edhelas

stpeter: I've sent an email this morning about some new stuff on the bookmark XEP, I've already sent theses modification in december, october and the last summer. A patch is attached to the file, it would be great if theses changes can be considered by the XMPP Council for a futur update

  35. Zash

Are there mobile client developers other than Ge0rG who are active in the XMPP community?

  36. dezant

    sure, talkonaut

  37. Santiago26

Why do you need them? I have a connection with two developers, which are active in local communities, not XSF. May I help?

  38. Ge0rG

Zash: now there is also siacs from https://github.com/siacs/Conversations

  39. ralphm

Ge0rG: indeed, and I'd love it if he were to show up here

  40. Ge0rG

    ralphm: write him on reddit?

  41. ralphm

    Ge0rG: no chance in hell

  42. Ge0rG

ralphm: so you want him to read your thoughts via telepathy and to appear here out of thin air? :)

  43. dezant

Ge0rG: there are no yaxim for symbian??

  44. Lance

    Ge0rG: http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0183.html :p

  45. Ge0rG

dezant: Symbian was thrown into the Sea after it burned down.

  46. Ge0rG

Lance: looks like a feature request for Conversations

  47. ralphm

Ge0rG: it worked. He showed up in jdev@conference.jabber.org just now.

  48. Ge0rG

    ralphm: woohoo!
