jonasw, for contact sharing between inviter and invitee I would use roster pushed to update the inviter's roster. Otherwise, the inviter would need to reconnect in order to get the roster item of the invitee. Do you think that's a proper solution?

Okay, it seems that Gajim works fine with roster pushes :)
