I see 3 items: finances and fundraising, ED replacement, change of board tenure

I believe the first two are currently stalled on other things, with no updates

Does anyone have anything they want to say about them?

I'm unsure of the state of the finance/fundraising with existing / old sponsors. I've not heard back from Peter, and neglected to follow up for a couple of weeks.

But I think we might want to include others than just Peter for following up with sponsors

This has had some discussion on the lists, I haven't been through it all yet

board tenure: there was some discussion in the mailing list, of which I read only half (some kind of mail problem, I think)

I'm not really sure of my thoughts on the matter yet

How often have we been in a position that someone was wanted to do more than one year, but the membership decided to replace the entire Board instead (and part two, if the membership decides it doesn't want any to stay on, is that a sign)?

My memory of votes is that the membership almost always votes in incumbents for Council/Board when they stand, and the issue with Board continuity is mostly people not wanting to do another year.

I can understand why people don't want to do multiple years, it's a frustrating thankless job in my honest opinion :)

I'd primarily want to improve continuity

Guus: FWIW, I'd be surprised if you stood and the Membership didn't elect you. Which is pretty much at the root of me thinking changing the bylaws on this isn't worthwhile.

Kev, like I said, making tenure longer isn't my goal here. I've just noticed that things die down often, which is what I'd like to see change

I suspect longer terms would have the opposite of the desired effect for that.

preventing boards from changing frequently is one way of doing that, I think, but there might be other ways

I think the election, standing again, etc., tends to add a little energy back into the system. IMO.

so we should have more elections then! 🙂

jonasw: looks to me like the right tool for the job. This is pretty much exactly what we want. And colors like nice by default

On my screen, the middle row is the same teal from left to right. ^^'

Also running it in some extra-brightness mode becasue colors looked really crappy otherwise

Actually the three rows at the middle are almost the same colour.
