Rss works quite ok for me. Feedly is nice.

moparisthebest: the xmpp record (not xmpps) mentioned here that points to 443 only works when using sslh not the ngnix setup. That should be mentioned. https://wiki.xmpp.org/web/Tech_pages/XEP-0368#DNS_setup

  3. moparisthebest

    Ah yea that's right

  4. Ge0rG

Is there a standard(s mail) about the registration redirection URL used by Conversations?

  5. Zash

    Ge0rG: https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0077.html#redirect ?

  6. Ge0rG

    Zash: awesome!

  7. Zash

Ge0rG: Having messages in MAM that document a move does seem very sensible. I just remembered that Mercurial records moved files with some metadata in the first entry of the new file log.

  9. Zash

Ge0rG: Yes, I'm saying that's good and that other people did something similar, so it can't be a completely crazy thing to do.

  10. Ge0rG

Zash: except that most implementations won't keep the record longer than 14 days or so

  11. Zash

Ge0rG: Is that a big problem?

  12. Ge0rG

    Zash: I don't know

  13. Zash

I guess we need MattJs device tracking stuff to know for sure

  14. Ge0rG

Your less often used client will just see that a contact vanished, without the link to the new contact

  15. Zash

    Do normal people do that?

  16. Zash

    For vacation maybe?

  17. Zash

Some sort of roster metadata maybe

  18. Zash

People don't switch accounts all that often, but is this because it's currently somewhat tricky or because .. reasons?

  19. Zash

    Stable identifiers are generally good

  20. Ge0rG

It's not "somewhat tricky", it's a huge effort and nuisance to your contacts
