Re diversity issues, DuckDuckGo has published the following article (sorry about medium): https://medium.com/@girldevelopit/the-women-of-duckduckgo-79df7fbce746, which is nice. I don't think we even have resources to do that (numbers), and maybe it's not appropriate for the XSF, not sure

pep. although the article is nice, it doesn't really specify what DDG did to attract these women (or other minorities) - or am I missing something?

I don't see how I can use this text to distill "to-do" items for us, other than not be a bad apple.

although it's specifically mentioned that some are very OSS and privacy-minded (well, DDG, that's a given), so maybe we should see if we can get that one that referenced IRC to switch over from IRC to XMPP. 🙂 ✏

It'd be much easier to foster diversity if we had any.

not at the summit, but in larger XMPP community, definitely we have some diversity

maybe it would be nice to have a way to know people using XMPP outside Europe/US, and see if events can be organised. It would probably help involvment.

Can we issue a statement or something, "We care about diversity, and we would like to help start something in the community to encourage it"
