  10. zinid

    Guus, upvoted :)

  11. Ge0rG

Damn, looks like yaxim and Bruno have expired from the client list. Need to make a PR.

  12. zinid

Ge0rG, how to know that something is expired?

  13. zinid

    are there notifications for this?

  14. zinid

    I guess we're talking about these lists: https://xmpp.org/software/ ?

  15. Ge0rG

zinid: yes. There are no notifications. I presume by design.

  16. Kev

The assumption is that it's straightforward for people to shove a reminder in their TODO every 8 months or whatever to renew it. That's what I do.

  17. Kev

(And then I delegate the actual renewing, because I'm lazy, but hey ho)

  18. edhelas

Kev we should have a bot the pings the JIDs of the authors with a CRON

  19. Kev

    I don't agree, really.

  20. Kev

Anyone who's not active enough in their own project to be willing to put a reminder in their TODO probably fits the definition of an inactive project that we were trying to weed out of the list when we decided these things back in the Summit a few years ago.

  21. Kev

(If it's not clear what the rules are for remaining listed and maintainers don't know that they need to do this, that's a different problem, and we should address it)

  22. Zash

Someone™ could try to poke those who haven't done an initial renewal at all

  23. Zash

    Aaaaah Gajim

  24. edhelas

    Zash ?

  25. Zash

"You can't join this room because you have it in the roster"

  26. Zash

And it's in the roster, in the "not in roster" group.

  27. Zash

    And can't remove it???

  28. edhelas

    O_o

  29. pep.

    Wasn't that fixed?

  30. Zash

Maybe, this was the Debian testing verison

  31. Zash

Maybe, this was the Debian testing version

  32. Ge0rG

I wonder if we can accelerate the relative time of the software listing to expire pidgin.

  33. Ge0rG

Wow, some significant lag from the EDGE network in the basement.

  34. Zash

Throw Pidgin into a black hole

  35. Zash

Or do you need to throw yourself into a black hole?

  36. Zash

Not enough coffee for special relativity today

  37. zinid

    that's a general relativity

  38. Zash

    s/special/any kind of/

  39. zinid

also, some new theory suggests that everything thrown into black hole will be emitted out of a white hole, so that's a bad way to throw something away

  40. Zash

Have we observed white holes? Or was the big bang one?

  41. zinid

    nah, not observed yet

  42. zinid

we hardly observer black holes honestly

  43. zinid

    *observe

  44. zinid

the best image we got a few weeks ago is quite bizzare: https://3c1703fe8d.site.internapcdn.net/newman/gfx/news/hires/2019/revealingthe.jpg

  45. Ge0rG

Is that some kind of obscure goatse reference?

  46. Ge0rG

I'm two weeks overdue. Bummer. Why didn't I make a calendar reminder? https://github.com/xsf/xmpp.org/pull/528

  47. jonas’

    merged

  48. Ge0rG

    Phew. I am somebody, again.

  49. Ge0rG

    jonas’: thanks very much

  50. zinid

    jonas’, thanks for publishing!
