  1. pep.

zinid: https://xmpp.org/extensions/inbox/xor.html#acc-harvesting I hadn't thought about that but now it seems pretty obvious indeed. I'm curious if this can be prevented at all but I'm not really optimistic

  2. pep.

Who do I need to ping to put this (0345 LC) back on the board agenda: https://mail.jabber.org/pipermail/standards/2019-January/035639.html

  3. zinid

pep.: we have this already with PEP, when we allowed everyone to read pep nodes

  4. Guus

Zash I'm trying to subscribe to your presence - unsure if that's getting through

  5. Ge0rG

Maybe it's one of those one-directional s2s links because of an internet protocol version mismatch?

  6. Zash

    Maybe I'm not quite awake

  7. intosi

Hi all. Due to an upgrade, there will be some blips in this room (and others on muc.xmpp.org).

  8. Zash

    blip blop

  9. intosi

    Right on schedule.

  10. Ge0rG

intosi: thanks for doing the work.

  11. Ge0rG

A shameless re-plug of another i-team task: what about adding a mobile theme to the wiki?

  12. flow

    Where are the promised blips?

  13. Zash

    no blip, only blop!

  14. zinid

I had to reconnect to the MUC with Gajim

  15. intosi

Ge0rG: getting the wiki to work at all is a slightly higher prio.

  16. Ge0rG

zinid: ask the devs for XEP-0410

  17. intosi

It seems to have lost its ability to connect to postgres. Postgres is still there.

  18. Ge0rG

oh wait, it doesn't help with getting kicked.

  19. Zash

Future upgrades should be smoother, thanks to the magic of Prosody 0.11

  20. intosi

    There it is.

  21. Ge0rG

    Yay!

  22. intosi

    Kudos to Kev.

  23. Zash

    \o/

  24. Ge0rG

I still don't believe in seamless MUC upgrades with 0.11

  25. Ge0rG

Because you can't discuss away the intermittent s2s outage

  26. Ge0rG

And my gut feeling is it will become the GC1.0 of s2s.

  27. Seve

    Hi

  28. Zash

    Time will tell

  29. Ge0rG

    12:55:34 MUC service not responding. 12:57:36 Error> xsf@muc.xmpp.org: cancel: not-acceptable

  30. Ge0rG

    Speaking of prosody 0.11

  31. zinid

    argh, I kicked silently again

  32. Ge0rG

    zinid: you kicked whom?

  33. zinid

Ge0rG, I mean not kicked formally speaking, just lost the connection to this muc

  34. zinid

    silently this time

  35. zinid

    (previously Gajim got shutdown error)

  36. Ge0rG

    > zinid: ask the devs for XEP-0410

  37. Ge0rG

    would have helped with that.

  38. zinid

    Ge0rG, I don't care that much

  39. zinid

I would rather complain to this server operators who apparently fail to upgrade the server smoothly

  40. zinid

also, even if I ask Gajim devs, Daniel still doesn't want to implement this

  41. zinid

and we decided with him to finally go MIX road

  42. zinid

the updated MIX implementation will go in the next ejabberd release btw

  43. zinid

and I stopped any attempts to improve MUC, I would rather focus on MIX

  44. Ge0rG

    zinid: good luck with that.

  45. zinid

    Ge0rG, good luck with MUC

  46. jonas’

    zinid, awesome!

  47. jonas’

that means I can start hacking on MIX in aioxmpp

  48. zinid

jonas’: you can already, I am running the branch on zinid.ru, let me know if you need an account there

    0. Welcome + Agenda

  52. ralphm

Who's here and do you have anything beyond what's on Trello?

  53. ralphm

    nyco sent regrets

  54. pep.

345 LC? Even if it's not added to today's agenda

  55. ralphm

and seve said he might not make it

  56. ralphm

I don't see Guus or MattJ in here either. Maybe because of intosi.

  57. zinid

EAX-CAR, too, but it's not in Agenda neither: https://xmpp.org/extensions/inbox/eax-car.html

  58. intosi

    Probably my fault.

  59. Guus

    Hey, I'm here

  60. Guus

    I'm happy to blame intosi

  61. ralphm

    Guus: yay

  62. Guus

    nyco sent regrets

  63. ralphm

    We still don't have quorum.

  64. Guus

    as did Seve

  65. ralphm

Guus: yeah, I said this already

  66. Guus

    sorry, catchig up 🙂

  67. ralphm

zinid, pep. thanks for the suggestions. I'll put them on Trello. Looks like it's going to be next week.

  68. Guus

    Let's call this one busted.

  69. ralphm

    Indeed.

  70. Guus

I won't be able to make next week

  71. ralphm

  78. jonas’

zinid, I’d prefer to have a docker image actually.

  79. zinid

    jonas’, it's poorly maintained

  80. jonas’

it’s the only thing which prevents me from having to maintain an ejabberd locally or heavily modify my end-to-end test framework.

  81. moparisthebest

zinid, does it have muc compatibility? that is, could it be enabled for an existing muc room and have mix and muc users co-exist ?

  82. zinid

moparisthebest, the minimum compatibility (only basic MUC functionality) is planned

  83. zinid

which means we're going to deprecate mod_muc in favor of mod_mix_muc

  84. moparisthebest

cool, that's likely all that is needed

  85. zinid

jonas’, I know, you said that already, but I personally don't have neither time nor motivation to maintain the docker image, and ProcessOne is quite limited in human resources currently as well :/

  86. Seve

    test?

  87. jonas’

zinid, last time I checked somebody was still maintaining it

  88. zinid

jonas’, yeah, Christophe, but for him it's also a completely side job, thus the image quality

  89. jonas’

can’t complain about the images recently

  90. zinid

    good

  91. zinid

however, there are some complaints in the bug tracker

  92. zinid

so judging by them the image doesn't look like of a good quality to me

  93. jonas’

    good enough

  94. zinid

    okay
