  1. lovetox_

Ok can someone tell me the adress of the jdev room

  2. lovetox_

its not listed here for whatever reason

  3. lovetox_

    https://search.jabbercat.org/

  4. Vaulor

    jdev@conference.jabber.org

  5. lovetox_

yeah my converse is not joining that room..

  6. lovetox_

damn either i broke converse or this room is buggy

  7. lovetox_

no i think the server is down

  8. jonas’

lovetox_, (a) conference.jabber.org has an insecure SSL setup rejected by modern libssl

  9. lovetox_

either that or it doesnt allow connection with my server

  10. jonas’

    (b) conference.jabber.org has MUCs which have invalid JIDs

  11. jonas’

both are reasons why no rooms from conference.jabber.org are listed on search.jabbercat.org

  12. jonas’

and (a) is probably the reason you can’t join

  13. jonas’

(and (a) is the reason why I’m not in there anymore)

  14. lovetox_

ah yeah thats the server with the 18.000 rooms

  15. jonas’

    > jdev@conference.jabber.org/jonas’: cancel: Server-to-server connection failed: Connecting failed: ssl handshake error: dh key too small

  16. lovetox_

ok, so what about moving this room, to muc.xmpp.org? seems nobody cares about this server much with all the invalid rooms and stuff

  17. lovetox_

also no mam on jabber.org if i remember correctly

  18. lovetox_

either this or xsf rooms will get more and more used for dev talk

  19. Ge0rG

what about replacing jabber.org with a modern implementation? ;)

  20. Kev

We'd need to upgrade jabber.org's M-Link to add new stuff (like MAM), and that's not a particularly good use of time as Peter's migrating to Prosody.

  21. jonas’

    I heard rumors that somebody

  22. jonas’

I heard rumors that somebody™ is working on fixing up jabber.org, but there’s no timeline

  23. Kev

But I don't know how progress is going on that.

  24. Ge0rG

I've heard rumors that conference.jabber.org returns invalid XML on disco#items

  25. jonas’

Ge0rG, not invalid XML, just invalid XEP-0045

  26. lovetox_

so are you saying peter is in charge of that?

  27. Kev

Yeah, a left-over from the ejabberd migration.

  28. lovetox_

maybe we could ask for a timeline

  29. Kev

Yes, Peter's ultimately in charge of jabber.org

  30. lovetox_

I guess only reachable via email? or is he around here sometime

  31. jonas’

    rarely

  32. Ge0rG

jonas’: can we agree on "invalid 6120"?

  33. jonas’

    Ge0rG, no

  34. jonas’

6120 does not prescribe that @node of a disco item must be a JID

  35. jonas’

    that’s XEP-0045

  36. jonas’

    oh wait, it’s not @node, it’s @jid, so actually invalid XEP-0030

  37. Ge0rG

jonas’: I suppose I can agree on that

  38. lovetox_

Ok i send peter an email, lets see what he will answer

  39. jonas’

lovetox_, worse than xsf@ becoming more dev-y is that there’s now a silent fragmentation between those who are in jdev@ and those who can’t join it

  40. lovetox_

    yes

  41. Ge0rG

I'm going to share my cookie recipes in jdev@ only now.

  42. jonas’

    :(
