If a server prevents sending to JIDs considered invalid per local JIDPREP rules, then users can't talk to anyone on servers that might have a more recent Unicode database, or such.

So. What to do?

Can't becasue still on stringprep and I'm not super excited about Rust or Go dependencies.

Which doesn't actually solve any of the problems but redirects them to the server admins

Why Rust or Go?

I'm told there's a Rust PRECIS implementation somewhere.

somebody(tm) in xmpp:chat@xmpp.rs?join did say they had an interest in PRECIS and they were going to work on it.. (not ETA of course)
