  2. MattJ

    Heh, nice

  3. pep.

    it's not a really fair comparison :)

  4. jonas’

let’s compare power spent server side between Riot and Movim

  5. pep.

    That'd give a better picture already :)

  6. pep.

Talking about Matrix, I love these regular comments on IRC: "someone unplugged the matrix"

  7. edhelas

i was thinking of adding another tag in chat messages to tag a message as <important> or <pinned>

  8. edhelas

    what do you think ?

  9. David Cridland

"Pinned" was discussed at a Summit about MIX, where (I think) we decided to punt on it but consider it for a different channel-stream-thing (I always forget the names).

  10. David Cridland

I can't recall whether we talked about "Important" ever.

  11. Zash

    https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0224.html maybe?

  12. Zash

Could be used for those "@room" things that highlights everyone

  13. pep.

    *wizz*

  14. pep.

    *laptop vibrates*

  15. David Cridland

    Maybe XEP-0132?

  16. edhelas

    Zash yup

  17. David Cridland

There's a related thing I've been thinking about where we have XEP-0333 which has an "acknowledged" state, but doesn't (appear to) have a way to tell receiving client that the sender want this explicit acknowledgement.

  18. Alex

reminder: If you are a XSF member and have not voted yet in the current voting period, please do so! Thanks

  19. Link Mauve

Alex, it seems memberbot doesn’t reply anything but a receipt to me.

  20. mathieui

worked for me last week when I voted

  21. Link Mauve

It already didn’t work last time.

  22. Alex

Link Mauve: works fine for me, and replies to me

  23. Link Mauve

Maybe it’s just for my JID?

  24. Alex

do you have s2s issues to xmpp.org

  25. Link Mauve

    No, I wouldn’t receive a receipt otherwise.

  26. Alex

which Jid are using for voting?

  27. Link Mauve

    linkmauve@linkmauve.fr

  28. Alex

Link Mauve, can you try again? I retsarted everything, including Redis

  29. Link Mauve

Alex, doesn’t seem to have fixed anything. :/

  30. Link Mauve

Btw, have you seen my branch where I stub out Redis, so that you don’t need to use it for normal operations? https://github.com/linkmauve/memberbot/commits/master

  31. Link Mauve

I’ll PR it once memberbot is not archived anymore.

  32. Alex

Link Mauve, looks like it was a Redis problem ;-)

  33. Alex

Link Mauve, if it does not work you can send me your votes directly by mail or XMPP

  34. Alex

don't see a reason right now why it would not work, I can talk to memberbot from 2 different Jids

  35. pep.

Or take part in the meeting ^

  36. Link Mauve

Ah, do I have to add it to my roster?

  37. Zash

dwd, Kev, Tobias: Why so expired? (your certs)

  38. Tobias

    Busyness combined with no automation

  39. Alex

Link Mauve, not sure, but you can try

  40. Alex

have received to 2 votes today, seems to work fine

  41. Alex

just got a new vote from Zash

  42. Zash

    :O

  43. moparisthebest

ha I guess german police are ok with a german-made client https://twitter.com/iNPUTmice/status/1203611711967813633 just not a russian one https://twitter.com/Xabber_XMPP/status/844865634672435200

  44. DebXWoody

When I query disco, I get "urn:xmpp:blocking", but it's not at https://xmpp.org/registrar/disco-features.html Why?

  45. Zash

Don't think the registries are updated yet

  46. DebXWoody

    urn:xmpp:carbons:2 is also missing

  47. DebXWoody

    Ok, I sse

  48. DebXWoody

  49. Zash

    Hold on WHAT

  50. Zash

    > gc-1.0 Support for the "groupchat 1.0" protocol. Didn't know this was a thing

  51. Zash

    oh

  52. Zash

    > Version 1.25 (2012-02-08) > - Removed references to service discovery feature for "gc-1.0" since it is now obsolete.

  53. Zash

What's with the single word features claimed to be in xmpp core but there's no trace there

  54. Zash

    dnssrv, stringprep

  55. Zash

    and xmllang?

  56. Zash

and a bunch with no source

  57. nykb

Hi is there any documentation on file upload for the Tigase swift client ?

  58. jonas’

can the comm team please celebrate new year’s by publishing another wrongly-dated newsletter?

  59. jonas’

I’m getting spam in my inbox about that issue all the friggin’ time, and by doing it on purpose that might stop -.-

  60. Guus

    Sigh

  61. jonas’

(to be clear, I’m not blaming comm team!)

  62. jonas’

    Guus, lol

  63. jonas’

I am tempted to reply "Oh yeah, one year soon, we should have a nice anniversary celebration"

  64. Zash

% XMPP World Domination Aniversery Celebration % Supreme Overlord Jonas % 2039-12-31 ...

  65. Guus

  67. Zash

dwd, Kev: Do SASL 2 and Bind 2 kinda overlap?

  68. Kev

    Zash: Yes, maybe.
