Ge0rG, Zash, friendly reminder about your pending votes on fulltext and inbox protoxeps

  2. Ge0rG

Was there a minutes mail yet.

  3. Ge0rG

Was there a minutes mail yet?

  4. jonas’

    not according to my inbox

  5. jonas’

but IMO replying to the announcement thread is good enough

  6. Ge0rG

Yeah, you said so, and then I forgot about it

  7. Ge0rG

But I still have one more week before the vote expires, right?

  8. jonas’

    yes

  9. jonas’

    you do

  10. jonas’

but it’d hinder development during the Summit

  11. jonas’

any votes not cast until the end of next council session will not be in time for publishing the XEP on time

  12. jonas’

Link Mauve, what do I need to do to make you make atomic PRs?

  13. theTedd

    minutes to appear soon ;)

  14. jonas’

    theTedd, thanks!

  15. Ge0rG

    theTedd: awesome, thanks!

  16. Link Mauve

jonas’, what do you mean by atomic?

  17. Ge0rG

jonas’: you are going nuclear on Link Mauve?

  18. Link Mauve

Just teach me how to, I guess?

  19. jonas’

    Link Mauve, https://github.com/xsf/xeps/pull/879

  20. jonas’

    this does two things

  21. jonas’

I nearly closed this because I had the obsoletion already done manually locally

  22. Link Mauve

    Oh, I can do that.

  23. Link Mauve

I thought it was going to be merged directly so both could go in.

  24. jonas’

    too late

  25. jonas’

please don’t change the branches now

  26. jonas’

it’ll do stupid things with gitlab

  27. jonas’

it’ll do stupid things with github

  28. jonas’

Link Mauve, but thanks for understanding :)

  29. jonas’

sorry, I’m a bit frustrated because this is taking much longer than I anticipated due to unrelated issues and I’m running a bit late

  30. Link Mauve

    Sorry. :(

  31. jonas’

    not your fault, at all

  32. jonas’

Ge0rG, Zash, I just sent tomorrows agenda, which also contains declarations of the missing votes; I guess you’re free to reply to that, too, if you want to cast your votes on Inbox/Fulltext search now.

  33. jonas’

oh, theTedd also posted minutes in the meantime

  34. Zash

https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0225.html talks about asserting a JID in STARTTLS and SASL, but neither of those normally use JIDs.

  35. Zash

Thus, I'm confused as to how it's supposed to work

  36. jonas’

Zash, I thought the authz ID may be a JID?

  37. jonas’

    (in SASL, either way)

  38. Zash

The authzid need not have any relation to the JID bound.

  39. Zash

XMPP Core (IIRC) talks about a "simple username"

  40. Zash

That's usually the same as your JID localpart, but doesn't really have to be
