  1. larma

Is it just me or does https://xmpp.org/extensions/ not show XEP 0441 and 0442 yet?

  2. Zash

Let me give it a bit of a kick, to see if that helps

  3. Zash

    larma: There

  4. pep.

Is there a reason again why this page can't be served with the extensions container? Technical or else. Or is it just time and motivation?

  5. Zash

Dependency on the main site theme I guess?

  6. pep.

    hmm

  7. larma

are we filing PRs on GitHub or GitLab now?

  8. pep.

    GitHub still

  9. pep.

I think there were some licensing bits remaining for gitlab to be usable

  10. emus

    We have Gitlab? πŸ€”

  11. larma

GitLab/main and GitHub/master are out of sync

  12. pep.

    We do but we don't

  13. emus

I havent heard about it yet πŸ˜• link?

  14. pep.

Yeah, I don't rememer jonas ever announcing anything about it

  15. emus

I thought it was jusr a test

  16. pep.

    emus, it's just gitlab.com/xsf

  17. pep.

But there's nothing of interest there

  18. pep.

We don't have our own instance no

  19. emus

    ok

  20. emus

But there is a decision to migrate?

  21. Zash

    emus: https://mail.jabber.org/pipermail/standards/2020-June/037558.html

  22. pep.

jonas’ was looking into it, and has done quite some work already, but I guess that fell out of sight

  23. larma

GitHub doesn't have XEPs 441 and 442 yet but GitLab doesn't have GitHubs latest commit either

  24. pep.

Are there supposed to be PRs somewhere?

  25. emus

Thanks, but now we have five to six organsiational platforms - email - github - gitlab - mediawiki - trello I think we should align on this because it makes no sense to me like this

  26. emus

actually I think its not helpful like this

  27. pep.

    emus, forget about gitlab

  28. emus

    ok πŸ€”

  29. pep.

We just created the namespace with jonas’ some time ago because why not. And jonas explored a different way to do CI that could benefit editors, but there's nothing "official" yet

  30. emus

Yes okay, but as you have efforts in that direction its getting official by time, right? I mean I like the approach, however even without Gitlab, I see some defragmentation of the services/platform we use. Just my 2ct

  31. pep.

jonas was trying to make it possible to PR on boths. I personally wouldn't mind just redirecting people to whatever other platform we choose if it happens we choose another one.

  32. pep.

(so we don't have two sources of truth)

  33. Guus

In any case, it'd be good to evaluate, and decide. Keeping both options on the table can lead to confusion (as demonstrated above).

  34. pep.

Well, people do what they can with the time and motivation they have

  35. larma

It's not confusion. It's mismatching. If GitHub is supposed to be the real thing for now, then XEPs 0441 and 0442 don't even exist yet.

  36. pep.

larma, curious where I'm supposed to find them (as an editor)

  37. pep.

    Are they on gitlab?

  38. pep.

Ah, seems like jonas is actually doing things with gitlab :p

  39. pep.

Ok well, I'll have a look later on

  40. pep.

    got some work to do

  41. Najeeb

  47. emus

Does anyone have a clue what we are doing wrong about the bullet point formating regarding the listings in the GSoC section? πŸ€”

  48. Zash

emus: I think it's because there's no blank line before the list

  49. goffi

emus: there is also a bullet point formatting issue in SΓ T section

  50. emus

    goffi: yeah, I can imagine
