I like how Google keeps insisting that I'm looking for a Vietnamese fried octopus dish, whenever I search for MUC MAM.
-
Guus
the bubble is failing.
-
Guus
Clients determine that a particular inbound message is a MUC PM by looking at it's type, right? Regular MUC messages have type='groupchat', while PMs have not?
-
Zash
PMs look like regular chat messages, which makes everything complicated if you don't know they come from a MUC
-
Zash
unless the MUC stamps them with that <{muc}x/> tag
-
Ge0rG
Guus: yes, and maybe one day every implementation will add that x tag
-
Guus
where's that tag specified?
-
Zash
https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0045.html#privatemessage
-
Guus
ah, missed it. thanx
-
Guus
In XEP-0045, this is specified: > If the room is non-anonymous, the service MAY include an Extended Stanza Addressing (XEP-0033) [16] element that notes the original full JID of the sender by means of the "ofrom" address type: This is limited to messages retrieved from history, though. MUC MAM doesn't reference this at all, but I'm thinking it'd be equally desirable there? Is there harm in slapping it onto live messages (for non-anon rooms), even if clients get to know about real JIDs through presence information?
-
Zash
It's redundant since this JIDs are available in presence/{muc#user}x/item/@jid✎ -
Zash
It's redundant since JIDs are available in presence/{muc#user}x/item/@jid in non-anon rooms ✏
-
Zash
In semi-anon rooms you'd rather use occupant-id
-
Guus
I can see the redundancy - but I'm wondering if it'd hurt (apart from the obvious added weight to the stanzas).
-
Ge0rG
I wouldn't touch 0033 with a pole, it's based on RFC 822
-
Ge0rG
Also we had a nice security issue in 0313 where the server wasn't required to remove impersonation attacks from stored stanza

Having a so-called shut-it-down-day, won't make it to the board meeting today.
-
dwd
ralphm, Is there an Agenda somewhere?
-
ralphm
Other than Trello, no
-
arc
Could be a short meeting then
-
dwd
arc, You want to chair?
-
arc
Sure why not. Do we even have quorum?
-
dwd
Only if we have MattJ or Seve.
-
arc
Seve, MattJ?
-
MattJ
Hey
-
arc
Hey MattJ if I'm not mistaken it's your turn to do minutes
-
MattJ
Ok
-
dwd
MattJ, On the plus side, should be an easy one.

MattJ

arc
Seve are you present?
-
arc
For record, Ralph said he couldn't be here today
-
Seve
I am
-
arc
And MattJ is here doing minutes?
-
MattJ
Yep
-
arc
Ok. Since there are no tabled items from last week I think there's only one agenda item, but open call for others
-
arc
Fossdem and the devroom
-
dwd
arc, ralphm usually leads on FOSDEM etc, so that might be a problem discussing it.
-
Seve
Thought we left that for SCAM?
-
Seve
At least I would say last Board decided to leave this topic to SCAM
-
dwd
Yes, but IIRC, ralphm is our FOSDEM contact.
-
arc
I'm happy to leave it for SCAM. As much as I hate that acronym
-
MattJ
:)
-
arc
I still think we should have a vote for this year to delegate that to SCAM, get the ball rolling
-
arc
But are there any other topics to discuss this week?
-
dwd
Not that I know of.
-
dwd
(I mean, I do have things I'd like us to discuss, but I want to write a brief on them first)
-
arc
Ok then let's do this real fast
-
arc
1. Fosdem and the devroom
-
arc
I motion to officially delicate this to SCAM
-
MattJ
Seconded, +1
-
dwd
+1
-
dwd
Though I think you mean "delegate".
-
arc
+1 deligate yes
-
Seve
+1
-
arc
Passes.
-
arc
With no other business, +1 week
-
arc
Dwd do you want to put your agenda item in for next week?
-
dwd
arc, No, I need to write the brief first. So once I've written that we'll worry about an agenda item for it.
-
arc
Ok
- arc bangs gavel
-
arc
Done in 15
-
MattJ
Thanks o/
-
Seve
Have a good weekend everyone 🙂
-
dwd
Thanks, arc.
-
arc
I'm guessing we'll likely skip the week after next for the holidays
-
arc
Unless we want to have it on Christmas morning 😋
-
arc
And sorry for typos my phone's autocorrect gets in the way sometimes, especially since I added Norwegian to the language dictionary
