Wondering what people think about the name Spring Relay?

Relay as in a bunch of sprints

Calling it spring vs March has the advantage that if it becomes a regular deal, we could have a spring event done under, during our fall

(fyi, it has been a while since twitter stopped counting link URLs in the body size, as it will add an ellipsis and only count the size of a t.co URL which is the one people will click on anyway)

i make sure to always have cards even if they don’t have a lot of content

why actually? an only in front of vocals right?

it depends on the sound made by the starting letters of the word

in the case of XMPP, it starts with ex-, which is therefore a vowel

(unless you want to pronounce it "Zimpy" as per Ge0rG rules :D)

(my rule of thumb is "if you pronounce it and it require a pause after the a, use an", but I am not a native speaker)

"if you pronounce it and it feels wrong, then use the other variation"

I did check on grammarly before making that remark though :p, to be 200% sure

I'm interested in hearing what people think about the events name "Spring Relay", which would be an organized series of sprints on xmpp software and community online meetups over the course of 4-6 weeks this spring, likely starting in March

I'm thinking if we did it a second time, that would be well oriented to discuss in person at FOSDEM in February, and it gives enough time now to start organizing it.

Before this gets to "let's wait for Board to decide what licence the blog is under", let's say emus wrote the content and can choose to license it however

+1 mattj, I would just say since it's going on our website it should be under a free license of some form, because if it was a controversial license it would reflect poorly on the organization

If this is a XMPP focused event, I would put it as XMPP Spring Relay or dunno any other wording with relation what it will be about

I don't want reblogging held up for another week on a silly discussion like that, nobody is going to sue for copyright infringement - pick a CC and go for it :)

So far I've only talked to nike and they seem open to chipping in a few hundred. They apparently have a budget left over from last year for open source that didn't get used because all the conferences were canceled

So my general thinking is, that might be pretty common among. So even with international shipping we should be able to manage swag and such

Can you tell a bit more on the Spring? Havent read on this yet
