raghavgururajan, I am not sure if "Ignorance" is an argument. Even though something like Matrix sure could have also been build on top of XMPP, People should be allowed to "start from scratch". That's totally valid from an explorative perspective and should be sanctioned

flow: Of course! Exploration is good and anyone is free to work/develop what they like. Just not a candidate for a standard.

Also, the project is beyond exploratory/experimenting phase and still too many investment of effort, time and money to fill the use-cases of existing protocol.
