hi. Is XEP-0085 ( Chat State Notifications ) part of the <envelope/> or <message/> in case of XEP-0420: Stanza Content Encryption

  2. flow

    DebXWoody, tough question, depends

  3. flow

do you lean towards the recipient being able to consume the chat state notification or is it more important that the chat state notification is encrypted?

  4. flow

if you know that the recipent is able to understand encrypted chat state notifications, then the answer is probably easy

  5. Daniel

Imho the question should be: does the server (need to) process this information

  6. MattJ

Is there a way for the server to know if the stanza is "important"?

  7. Holger

Yes I guess that would be necessary for CSI/push filtering.

  8. DebXWoody

ah, I see. For push it would be better to have it in <envelope/>? <active/> is the only "content message". The other states are "standalone notification". Am I right? We it would be better to do not encypted "standalone notification", there is no need to use encyption at all?

  9. flow

DebXWoody, could you rephrase that question?

  10. lovetox

DebXWoody, for push its better if the server can read it
