emus, > Does the editor team need support on labeling all the issues? https://github.com/xsf/xeps/issues I can offer to do so we rather need folks working on them

  2. emus

    Yes, I know

  3. emus

Yeah, and I think we need another discussion on the future of our resources

  4. Alex

When you are a XSF member and have not voted yet in the current voting period then please take some time and do so. Thanks

  5. Ge0rG

How many Tigase representatives do we have on the list? :)

  6. emus

At least three with a related ID

  7. Wojtek

    which least? sent by Alex?

  8. Ge0rG

    Wojtek: the member list

  9. Wojtek

there are 4 of us there

  10. moparisthebest

how can XMPP ever be taken seriously if it doesn't have documentation like this https://httpstatusdogs.com/ https://http.cat/

  11. Zash

You know what you have to do

  12. moparisthebest

xmpp.cat appears to have already been taken

  13. moparisthebest

xmpp.dog is available for $67.83 per year though for anyone willing to take a joke that far

  14. Zash

Have some words for variants: "status", "error", "condition", "stanza" ...

  15. Zash

    Subdomain of something maybe?

  16. jonas’

    cats.jabber.network!

  17. jonas’

moparisthebest, name me an IP and you can have that name today ;)

  18. moparisthebest

    that sounds like work...

  19. jonas’

it always boils down to that, doesn’t it? :)

  20. John

Hello, which XEP to use for instant gaming? I notied that Psi-IM uses something similar to XEP-xxxx: Instant Gaming ( https://xmpp.org/extensions/inbox/instant-gaming.html ), which is the right one?

  21. Zash

Huh, TIL, never seen that protoxep before.

  22. rion

I guess any game should come with jingle inside. Probably not the case for any

  23. Zash

John, could you elaborate on what you're after?

  24. John

Zash, I want to start with a Hangman game, maybe chess later

  25. rion

One day I'll update all the psi games to use jingle. This will allow to use JET to make chess super secure :)

  26. jonas’

and when your p2p session breaks down the game’s gone?

  27. Link Mauve

    Pidgin once wrote this: https://xmpp.org/extensions/inbox/tictactoe.html

  28. Link Mauve

    (I think it was Pidgin.)

  29. rion

It's implementation details. I see nothing wrong in saving game state and then initiate a new session with the stored state

  30. jonas’

    stream management over JET? :)

  31. rion

    👍

  32. John

    I'm going to use https://xmpp.org/extensions/inbox/instant-gaming.html

  33. Zash

Hm, the archives don't go back to 2009. Were there older logs elsehere?

  34. Zash

    Mailing lists perhaps

  35. Zash

    Thread: https://mail.jabber.org/pipermail/standards/2009-April/021619.html

  36. Zash

https://mail.jabber.org/pipermail/standards/2009-April/021840.html > Several Council members would like to review these further before > publication, but no major objections were voiced.

  37. Zash

    And then?

  38. Zash

    https://mail.jabber.org/pipermail/council/2009-May/002559.html

  39. Zash

    ... and then?

  40. emus

Has the hosting changed at that time?

  41. emus

    backups?

  42. John

What is the point of keeping the logs here for years?

  43. John

    Anybody read them again?

  44. John

I don't mean they should be deleted, just wondering

  45. MattJ

This is the official discussion venue of the XSF... we hold meetings here

  46. MattJ

The chat logs form a part of the record of those meetings, and yes, they get referred to

  47. Zash

It is often of value to find out what was said about some protocol specifics, reasons for certain changes etc.

  48. John

I expected something like this but I don't think it's easy to find what was said if you don't know when it was said

  49. Zash

Search engines I guess. Or download the whole thing and run `grep` 🙂
