    > Kev‎: I’m glad Ralph sent that mail, because I was going to otherwise. Most important part of the CoC discussion 😂 Turns out you were more right than I anticipated :-D

  2. ralphm

    > dwd‎: We could have different acronym expansions for the different types. I think this is a great idea

  3. eevvoor

I kind of missed the CoC development. I realized only via Mails that we have one now.

  4. eevvoor

Is there already a team, david, if yes, I would like to join.

  5. jonas’

eevvoor, we don’t have one now, and you didn’t miss development

  6. jonas’

development is happening on-list right now, the XEP is still Experimental

  7. eevvoor

Yeah but I missed the fact that a CoC was discussed and wirtten :D jonas’

  8. jonas’

it is a first (albeit rather fleshed out) draft, but it is not active yet.

  9. eevvoor

I see, thx for the information, jonas’

  10. jonas’

pushing a CoC on the community without discussion would be terrible

  11. eevvoor

    hehe yes.

  12. eevvoor

    That is why I ask.

  13. eevvoor

Is david the one who drafted tht CoC?

  14. jonas’

    Dave drafted it, yes

  15. eevvoor

(I am too lazy to look up jids in the wiki.)

  16. jonas’

    which would be dwd here

  17. jonas’

    (not david)

  18. eevvoor

jonas’, I mean: is "david" the nickname present .

  19. jonas’

    no

  20. eevvoor

Ah ok which nick is it here?

  21. jonas’

12:01:12 jonas’> which would be dwd here

  22. jonas’

    sorry for all those pingz

  23. eevvoor

    ah thx!

  24. eevvoor

dwd, I would like to contribute to this CoC stuff.

  25. jonas’

so there is no conduct team either yet, I guess interested individuals should go to board@ once the thing goes active.

  26. eevvoor

Please mention here in the MUC me when you continue your effort, so that I am informed.

  27. jonas’

eevvoor, if you want to contribute to the text of the XEP, send replies in to the mailing list :)

  28. eevvoor

oh it is a XEP :D *lol* *rofl*. This is so XMPPish 🤣️.

  29. jonas’

    a Procedural one, yes

  30. jonas’

it gives us a process to manage changes directly

  31. eevvoor

yeay! Ok I will fork it on github.

  32. eevvoor

Should be the easiest way, technically ...

  33. jonas’

eevvoor, I think if you want to make substantial changes, discussing them on list first is preferable

  34. eevvoor

    Yes odf course.

  35. jonas’

<editor-team-hat>if you need technical support in editing the XEP, please let me know</editor-team-hat>

  36. eevvoor

thx, I know how to write XEPs :-)

  37. jonas’

I lost track of who knows and who doesn’t :)

  38. eevvoor

You cannot read minds, jonas’, that's totally acceptable :-D

  39. dwd

Hey, yes. I'd welcome textual suggestions, but please do discuss on the list first, in part because what's written (and equally, what's not written) is quite important.

  40. mdosch

Any evolution user wants to check whether it works like that? https://wiki.xmpp.org/web/Jabber_Email_Header#Evolution I'd be also curious if you can configure it to always set the header or whether you really have to manually insert it each time.

  41. eevvoor

dwd sorry for my ignorance but where exactly is the draft? Is the only and only the XEP or shoul Iregard more? (Plus of course maillist discussion)?

  42. eevvoor

dwd sorry for my ignorance but where exactly is the draft? Is it only and only the XEP or shoul Iregard more? (Plus of course maillist discussion)?

  43. eevvoor

dwd sorry for my ignorance but where exactly is the draft? Is it only and only the XEP or shoul I regard more? (Plus of course maillist discussion)?

  44. dwd

eevvoor, There's just the XEP, and mailing list discussion.

  45. eevvoor

    thx dwd

  46. moparisthebest

mdosch, the bigger question is does any email client ever use/show it on receipt ?

  47. mdosch

I don't know of any doing it by default. But in (neo)mutt it's one line to show it: `unignore Jabber-ID`. :)

  48. mdosch

  49. ralphm

That made me remember to edit the wiki on how to show these headers in (modern versions of) Thunderbird.

  50. mdosch

    👍🏼
