XSF Discussion - 2021-08-10

  1. MattJ

As discussed here recently after the approval of XEP-0429 SIG-E2EE, I just created xmpp:e2ee@muc.xmpp.org?join as a discussion venue for that group. Consensus seemed to be that mailing list discussions for the SIG would happen on standards@xmpp.org so I haven't created a separate mailing list.

    :+1:

  3. jonas’

MattJ, wanna send that as reply to the announcement on list?

  4. Kev

    Thanks Matt.

  5. MattJ

    Shall do

  6. MattJ

Also, should the information go into the XEP itself? Someone I spoke with was surprised not to find it there. I can't say I blame them :)

  7. Sam

    That seems reasonable

  8. Kev

It doesn’t seem daft to me.

  9. MattJ

The IoT SIG mentions their mailing list, but not the MUC

  10. jonas’

    Naming Things®

  15. jonas’

oh my that confused the heck out of me when I was at a customer who uses that

  16. moparisthebest

they even capitalize it all like BOSH

  17. Seve

They name things like a bosh

  18. Sam

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it's not like anyone uses or knows what our bosh is anymore in any large scale/serious way. At some point names can be reused.

  19. Zash

I had expected some sort of power tool joke by now. I'm deeply disappointed.

  20. Sam

    hah, didn't think of that

  21. Zash

    Couldn't C the joke.

  22. moparisthebest

I thought they just made spark plugs and diesel injector pumps?

  23. moparisthebest

they at least have the common decency to spell it differently

  24. Menel

    > I had expected some sort of power tool joke by now. I'm deeply disappointed. +1 Now Makita will also deploy cloud services to cut even.
