moparisthebest: That might be something for the newsletter even

  4. Menel

That was a looong read. Some of the services there I didn't even know of.

  5. mjk

Menel: and that's only the tip of the iceberg that is Google Graveyard

  7. moparisthebest

I also didn't know about most of those Google services

  8. Menel

The seem to like to play around.. Or burn money.

  9. Zash

    Oh no

  10. Zash

    Why did I look?

  11. Zash

    When did https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0045.html#impl-service-traffic grow out?

  12. Zash

    Never seen that before

  13. mjk

Um, is it coincidental that https://xmpp.org/software/clients.html doesn't list libpurple clients (at least Pidgin, Adium, Chatty)? xD

  14. mjk

    > When did https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0045.html#impl-service-traffic grow out? It's alive and sentient, and is extending itself now, Zash

  15. Sam

mjk: it only lists clients if the client devs send in a yearly thing asking it to be listed. Those clients don't tend to be specific to XMPP so they probably don't do that.

  16. mjk

    Sam: I see, it's kind of a yearly-active list

  17. moparisthebest

mjk, the reason for the yearly renewal thing was roughly "how do we fairly exclude libpurple clients" :)

  18. mjk

    moparisthebest: xD

  19. MattJ

Ooook. RFC 6120 is seemingly very clear that stanzas from client->server with a 'to' attribute are a different class of stanza to those with a 'to' attribute

  20. MattJ

    https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc6120#section-8.1.1.1

  21. moparisthebest

I think one of those 'with' should be 'without' ?

  22. MattJ

Given this (and if you want a challenge, don't try looking anything up), what 'to' attribute should stanzas to your PEP/pubsub-on-a-JID have?

  23. MattJ

Yes, thanks moparisthebest. That was a bad start :)

  24. Sam

I would assume that if it's server pubsub you'd leave it blank and if it's PEP/pubsub-on-a-JID you'd have to specify it, otherwise how would it know what to do with it? But since you're asking that seems too obvious and maybe there's some other wrinkle that I'm missing.

  27. emus

    meaning out of activity

  28. moparisthebest

    sure ;D
