Reading a newsletter-linked article here, can't help but give some feedback on quality. view-source:https://www.cometchat.com/blog/xmpp-extensible-messaging-presence-protocol > <p>[…] The XML fragment looks something like this:</p><div class="w-embed"><Presencefrom="myusername@mydomain.com"id="123456"to="otherusername@mydomain.com"><show>online</show></Presence></div> Someone was _really_ struggling with their XML in an XMPP-introducing article. And wth is this cryptic nonsense? > Resource refers to the type of device on which the message was sent. For example, mobile vs web. This part of the unique identifier is optional and is often only defined in situations where the client doesn't support every device.

  2. MattJ

    Mmmmmm :)

  3. MattJ

Maybe someone could reach out to them with some feedback/suggestions?

  4. Ge0rG

Cosette Cressler seems to be present on most major anti-social platforms.

  5. mjk

    Well, there's a pop-up chat right on the page (hopefully, xmpp-based ;))

  6. mjk

Nnnope, neither xmpp-, nor cometchat-based. Anyway, I did send my comments on the xml issue. I'm not terribly qualified to do the same regarding the content

  7. emus

I rather thought of inviting them to XMPP hours and then have a discussion

  8. Zash

Anyone who happens to have git and sed handy and wanna replace the now broken tools.ietf.org references in xep.ent?

  9. Ge0rG

    Zash: with what?

  10. Zash

    datatracker.ietf.org I think

  11. Zash

    or rfc-editor.org

  12. Ge0rG

there are 40+ other files mentioning it, so...

  13. Zash

    myeah

  14. Zash

    that too

  15. Ge0rG

So http://tools.ietf.org/ is somebody's 15 year old blog now?

  16. Zash

    'parently

  17. mdosch

    > Writing Internet-Drafts using Microsoft Word > Joe Touch

  18. mdosch

I always assumed IETF people to use TUI editors on some *nix…

  19. Ge0rG

    and to have long beards?

  20. mdosch

    Neckbeards to be precise. 😂

  21. Zash

Having been to an IETF meeting, that's not true.

  22. Zash

    It's all macbooks and github.

  23. mdosch

    Hippsters?

  24. mjk

    > Anyone who happens to have git and sed handy Just suggest the use of https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/rewrite-ietf-id-urls-to-t/aiccdpabeagpjcebilebhlifplfkinao by visitors, done

  25. Zash

Nah, not the impression I got. More like well-paid engineers sent there by their big enterprise employers.

  26. mjk

(Yes, that is linked from <https://tools.ietf.org>)

  27. Zash

    Hrm.

  28. emus

Do we have other option with the hugo setup

  29. emus

Do we have other option with the hugo setup?

  30. Zash

XEPs don't have anything to do with that.

  31. emus

    ok
