Hi all! Reminder that the XMPP office hours are tomorrow! I'll be showing off the new Open Collective and talking about the XSF's new role as a fiscal host if anyone is interested: https://wiki.xmpp.org/web/XMPP_Office_Hours

Sam
Come tomorrow to find out :)

(just kidding, you can also find more information here: https://xmpp.org/2021/09/the-xsf-as-a-fiscal-host/)

jonas’: https://github.com/xsf/xeps/pull/874 can be merged now, also what about LCs for 0379, 0401 and 0445?
-
jonas’
Ge0rG, is it tuesday already?
-
Ge0rG
jonas’: damn
-
Ge0rG
for a brief moment I thought it was, but it isn't.
-
Ge0rG
that said, somebody ignored my calendar and forced me into a phone conference on Wednesday at the Council time, so I probably will have to skip this week

What about 353?
-
MattJ
I'm referring to it a lot at the moment, and it annoys me that I have to tick 'Deferred' to be able to Ctrl+F it, so I consider that a good reason to advance it
-
Ge0rG
it's also mandatory for Core A/V Compliance
-
Zash
It has >2 implementations and I don't remember any loud complaints. !summon fippo & stpeter
-
Daniel
I think there is some unaddressed feedback
-
Daniel
IIRC at least two implementations agree and diverge in behavior
-
Zash
Ah, found https://mail.jabber.org/pipermail/standards/2020-April/037229.html

Daniel
Plus the older feedback from the xabber people (although I don't agree with the tone) that the xep needs a "is your proposal still valid" mechanism might be valid
-
Daniel
Conversations doesn't need it but I can foresee a situation where we might need it.
-
Zash
Not seeing any response from the authors 😕

Daniel
> Plus the older feedback from the xabber people (although I don't agree with the tone) that the xep needs a "is your proposal still valid" mechanism might be valid Which is super annoying because it makes the xep way more complex

Ge0rG
Wouldn't it suffice to have a carbon of the hangup from the sender or the accept / reject from the recipient?

emus: What's the y axis?
-
emus
I think search requests
-

But what's the number? Incomplete graph.
-
Zash
It shows how everyone who cares about the nice things XMPP gives you moved away from Google 😉

> The values indicate the search interest relative to the highest point in the chart for the selected region in the specified period. The value 100 represents the highest popularity of this search term. The value 50 means that the term is half as popular and the value 0 means that there was not enough data for this term.

emus
My search was actually regarding the question of "xmpp" or "jabber" out of interest

Ah. It would be interesting to see the popularity in the amount of clicks/searches/whatever.
