"real" talk to yourself (Selbstgespräche) OMEMO issue :) If you have one device and you would like to talk to yourself, it's won't work (at least not in profanity and maybe the same for others). The XEPs says, we do not encrypt messages to the current device. This it working well, if the user has got >1 devices, because the message can be encrypted to all other clients. This is not the case, if you just own *one* device. Am I right? Maybe a notes or todo-list app will solve the "talk to yourself" issue?

DebXWoody, given that OMEMO has forward secrecy, I wonder why you would want to encrypt to yourself
-
flow
in e.g., OpenPGP you encrypt to self to be later able to encrypt and read the message you send
-
flow
with OMEMO you wouldn't be able to later encrypt the message or violate forward secrecy

flow
so you could just store the message in your local message archive (database) and have the same effect, without encrypting to self
