I I feel like a spam mitig spec/xep would be useful, like collapse all long msgs over x lines, or hide them , also perhaps roomadmin (or server owner) could link all usernames voted as spam by enough room regulars and deanon the full xmpp address when a spammer automatically changes username for each spam msg quickly, that way a single command to hide all msgs from that xmpp acct would be simpler. Does this exist yet or been discussed?

Perhaps a tripwire that stops voicing new users (or even long term idlers) during a spamwave/dos/ddos

qwestion, there hasn't been much in the way of spam fighting tools because up until recently there hasn't been much in the way of spam

but yes, suggestions appreciated, running code even more-so :)

Many of these solutions don't need any XEP

and many things are already available

In Prosody, a combination of mod_pastebin and mod_muc_limits would already protect against long and many messages
