  1. Guus

Waking up to an inbox full of registrar changes. 🥰

  2. xnamed

Is the current meeting has anything to do with the membership applications?

  3. mdosch

I think that one is in March.

  4. mdosch

    > I've started proxy voting via xmpp:memberbot@xmpp.org on the membership applications listed here: > https://wiki.xmpp.org/web/Membership_Applications_Q1_2022 > We will hold a meeting on March 10th to formally approve the voting results. > The meeting particulars are: > Date: March 10th, 2022 > Time: 19:30 UTC > Location: xsf@muc.xmpp.org chatroom

  5. xnamed

I read the date on the wiki page, I just wanted to make sure

  6. Sam

Reminder if you're voting in the meeting to look up peoples usersnames before voting on them. You may or may not want some of the people to re-join but not realize they're the same person who's been causing problems online. (sorry, that was the nicest way I could think to say it without actually pointing fingers since I understand that not everyone will have had the same negative experiences that I've had with this person, or may even have had a positive interaction with them)

  7. Ge0rG

    it it Vote Day already?

  8. Ge0rG

    > 2022-03-10T19:00Z Apparently no

  9. wurstsalat

Ge0rG, memberbot accepts your votes already ;)

  10. mdosch wears the 'I voted' sticker already for some days.

  11. wurstsalat as well

  12. mdosch

    ^5

  13. Sam

I need to go do that now, I guess!

  14. Ge0rG

    Giant Meteor 2022!

  15. Ge0rG

    I voted Giant Meteor.

  16. Zash

    Yes please!

  17. Link Mauve

To second Sam’s reminder, if you somehow forgot to check said person’s nickname, you might cast your votes again, as memberbot would have already told you.

  18. moparisthebest

    Wait we have stickers now?

  19. moparisthebest

Oh no that's still the one thing (tm) holding XMPP back

  20. Link Mauve

    https://linkmauve.fr/file_share/iEDsBAJFrQEzrnpco4Li_GPT/UI_EmotionIcon70.png

  21. Link Mauve

    Yes we do.

  22. Zash

    Yes We Can!

  23. Link Mauve

Use a modern client like poezio if your current one is still missing sticker support!

  24. Ge0rG

Link Mauve: does poezio show the sticker in the chat window?

  25. moparisthebest

Great, what's the next one thing (tm) ?

  26. Link Mauve

    Not yet, but that’s planned.

  27. Link Mauve

Sending them is already quite useful. ^^

  28. mdosch

Wasn't there also a web client with sticker support? Converse or movim? Is poezio compatible?

  29. moparisthebest

    I think movim

  30. Link Mauve

mdosch, poezio currently sends them as 0066 embeds, to be compatible with most clients out there.

  31. Link Mauve

Movim is only compatible with (AFAIK) Pidgin and Psi, as it uses 0231 instead.

  32. mdosch

I see. Too many ways to do things…

  33. Link Mauve

The third way, 0449, looks quite sexy and I will probably switch poezio’s implementation to it eventually.

  34. Link Mauve

It does require a few fixes first though.

  35. mjk

    > https://linkmauve.fr/file_share/iEDsBAJFrQEzrnpco4Li_GPT/UI_EmotionIcon70.png > Yes we do. if that one was 0066, then a borken 0066! (I see a plain url in Conversations and Dino

  36. Link Mauve

mjk, this room is configured to strip out 0066 embeds.

  37. mjk

    oh, right

  38. Link Mauve

Perhaps just from non-members, but I’m not a member.

  39. mjk

    I remembered, yes

  40. Ge0rG

Link Mauve: and now it's too late to apply.

  41. Link Mauve

    Ge0rG, I’m a member but I’m not a member.

  42. Ge0rG

    So you are Schrödinger's member?

  43. Zash

    Hats!

  44. mjk

    it's observer-dependent!

  45. Zash

    We need Party Hats!

  46. mjk

with hats, it would be client-dependent

  47. moparisthebest

This could be very interesting for http upload https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-tus-httpbis-resumable-uploads-protocol-00.html

  48. Link Mauve

    A voté !

  49. Link Mauve

Like we say around here. :)

  50. mdosch

    🎉

  51. mjk

    `✅️ resumable-uploads >> 🗳️`

  52. mjk

    `echo '✅️ resumable-uploads' >> 🗳️`

  53. Zash

    Does anyone support resumable _down_loads?

  54. mjk

    server-wise, it's probably "everyone"

  55. Zash

    I wouldn't be so sure

  56. moparisthebest

Everyone that uses a real webserver does

  57. mjk

    that I meant ^

  58. Link Mauve

So almost none of the servers using Prosody?

  59. moparisthebest

I use prosody for XMPP but nginx for http upload

  60. moparisthebest

So it supports nice things like range and sendfile etc

  61. Menel

Re stickers: Conversejs has a community plugin for it

  62. mjk

    https://github.com/conversejs/community-plugins/tree/master/packages/stickers nice

  63. mjk

ugh, it's hard to figure out which of the myriad specs it uses
