  2. edhelas

Oh, it's that time of the year again

  3. Holger

    😱️

  4. emus

Mid of month: Kind reminder to add your news to the newsletter. We are also happy for people supporting to create and update the XEP for example. https://github.com/xsf/xmpp.org/milestone/3

  5. debacle

Regarding QUIC: Will client side certificate auth work?

  6. Zash

Surely it keeps those parts of TLS

  7. debacle

Zash Wouldn't be the first time when "make everything new and shiny" leaves out valid use cases of 49 % of the users. "The CADT Model"...

  8. MattJ

debacle: 49% of users use client certs? 🙂

  10. menel

Its more like 1%, so you're the 1% we keep hearing about in the news debacle 😀

  11. emus

Holger: I meant xep section of course

  12. Zash

    Loud minorities?

  13. Holger

emus: Was referring to edhelas (gotta reapply as well) 🙂

  14. moparisthebest

debacle: yes client certs work with QUIC, that's how sasl external for servers works even, already implemented and in use :D

  15. debacle

menel I meant that sometimes multiple features are left out in a new version of "something", which might add up to 49 %. I'm sure, that far less than 1 % of XMPP users care about this specific feature.

  16. debacle

moparisthebest Good! Long live SASL EXTERNAL!

  17. emus

    ah ok

  18. moparisthebest

the QUIC handshake is essentially just TLS 1.3, so if it works in TLS 1.3, it'll work in QUIC, roughly anyway
