  1. Guus

for XEP-0357 Push Notifications, what are recommended app servers that work with Apple's notification infrastructure?

  2. Holger

Guus: Daniel's p2 has APNS code, and Monal published a new one the other day (which tries to be a bit different: no registration, no JIDs are stored): https://github.com/monal-im/fpush

  3. Holger

    The ChatSecure one is messy.

  4. Holger

Monal's 'old' one is a Prosody module and published on GitHub as well.

  7. moparisthebest

Guus, iirc android pushes go to https://firebase.google.com/ which you can configure to push to apple for you also

  8. Guus

    Doesn't iOS require APNS?

  9. moparisthebest

yes but you can configure firebase to push to APNS for you I mean

  10. Guus

    TIL

  11. moparisthebest

long story short if you have to push to android+iOS, it's easier to just push to firebase, and have google push to APNS for you

  12. moparisthebest

if you are only dealing with iOS and not android, then probably don't bother

  13. Holger

Can't have enough hops! Just go through the XMPP server, app server, firebase, APNS, device, and yay there's the notification!

  14. moparisthebest

    efficient!
