Morning all... Am using xmpp.jp as my server. If I enable Spam protection I am unable to send files. Is this normal?

  2. jonas’

Hi andy. This is not a topic for this room, but something you should discuss with either your client program support or xmpp.jp support channels.

  3. andy

    ok thanks 😉

  4. jonas’

(This room is focused on the development of the XMPP protocol itself and you're unlikely to find help with specific programs or providers here)

  5. andy

    no problems./

  6. jonas’

Unfortunately, I don't know of an official xmpp.jp support channel, but maybe their website has anything?

  7. flow

jonas’, I see, thanks for coming back to me :)

  8. debacle

Are there any news regarding a summit in Bruxelles before FOSDEM or other?

  9. wurstsalat

I'd like to know as well :)

  20. goffi

    emus: yep, I confirm

  21. emus

    👍

  22. moparisthebest

Are you other speakers like recording something beforehand or writing notes or just winging it? :)

  23. goffi

moparisthebest: I'll prepare a few slides before, but I mostly know what I want to say.

  24. moparisthebest

    Thanks!

  25. goffi

moparisthebest: for slides I use pandoc, it's really great.

  26. moparisthebest

What...I didn't know pandoc could do slides...

  27. mathieui

moparisthebest: I do beamer slides from pandoc markdown usually, with some LaTeX sprinkled inside

  28. mathieui

It is great (revealjs is also an option)

  29. moparisthebest

    Like https://pages.stat.wisc.edu/~yandell/statgen/ucla/Help/Producing%20slide%20shows%20with%20Pandoc.html ?

  30. mathieui

    Yes

  31. moparisthebest

This might end my aversion to making slides, thanks :)

  32. goffi

moparisthebest: same as mathieui, markdown + beamer, result is clean, and all you have to do is focus on the content.
