Are MUC PM messages supposed to be stored in a users MAM storage? According to XEP-0313 they are not stored in the MUC MAM archive, which makes sense imo.

Tobi, they are type='chat', so generally yes

Tobi, the problem is that the user’s server can’t (often/always) tell if they were MUC PMs or ordinary direct messages, at least not without the server going and finding out what type the sending Jid is. So yes, they often end up in MAM - however, there was a move to mark them as MUC PMs, so they can easily be omitted then.

Ta. The answer I was looking for :)

Tobi, See: https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0045.html#privatemessage and note that bit about the <x/> element.

Its quite nice if other open-source projects or organizations start following you as an organization 👍️

But why would anyone want to omit them, this would mean they end up in no archive at all
