Nepptün
on this channel is the crem-de-la-crem of module development, if here nobody takes the challenge, it is a dead parrot

i still fail to see how it is a server thing imo. it seems entirely client side. As in a feature request to gajim or dino or something
-
Nepptün
sure, it is possible to make a client plugin for some clients that translates your messages to the room and the messages of the room to you. but it is not a good solution.
-
Nepptün
a server solution takes your message and replaces or adds a translation of the original poster into the payload of the message.
-
Nepptün
but prolly i should write a XEP for it. i never wrote a XEP, i should try to find a howto writing XEPs
-
Daniel
Nepptün: I'd start with a prototype implementation and not a xep

Is Psi known to send a presence stanza (containing a vcard/photo element) to the bare JID of a MUC room?
-
Guus
is this an attempt to set an avatar for a MUC perhaps?
-
Guus
(which I _think_ should be using an IQ, not a Presence stanza?)
-
jonas’
(I think so too)
-
Daniel
I would probably assume this is an attempt to update their own avatar✎ -

I would assume this is an attempt to update their own avatar ✏
-
Daniel
The hash or the full Avatar?
-
Guus
hash
-
jonas’
that's just a normal presence update, isn't it?
-
Daniel
Done slightly incorrectly because in a muc you'd send to the full jid of yourself
-
Guus
Yeah, but it's addressed to a bare (MUC) JID. Openfire rejects it for not having a nickname
-
jonas’
ohh yeah
-
Daniel
But forgetting to put your nick in the resource sounds like a more plausible explanation than 'trying to update the room avatar'
-
jonas’
indeed
-
Guus
That makes sense.
-
Guus
Thanks

Daniel is it planed to implement 0373 in conversations?

In case the mails have bounced before the mailserver comes back up: XEP-0292: 0.11 -> 0.12.0 XEP-0388: 0.3.0 -> 0.4.0 XEP-0428: 0.1.1 -> 0.2.0 XEP-0359: 0.6.1 -> 0.7.0 XEP-0386: 0.3.0 -> 0.4.0
