    edhelas: regarding libsignal-protocol-javascript being deprecated; The Signal team is now having libsignal (https://github.com/signalapp/libsignal/) which is written in rust and exposes bindings for java, swift and typescript.

    I just ported Smack over from libsignal-protocol-java to libsignal: https://github.com/igniterealtime/Smack/pull/565

    Ah maybe, I'd prefer a pure JS one, I'll have a look.

    In Smack it was mostly just a matter of changing the package name on imports.
