If I wanted to start a workgroup under xsf like we have the encryption one, is there somewhere a process for it? From the site I think I am looking at a Special Interest Group (SIG)

Do I just send an email to members?

safety in the xmpp network. The action points (since i see it has to be about xeps and such) is to: - Write up what we want to achieve and why (I am writing something on that). - Collect requirments that we want to aim for. These will be around these areas: What the person using the app can filter. How the person approves new connections. How the person chooses to present themselves to others. What information do they expose about themselves and how that can be revoked at will. - Assemble what XEPs we already have, what can be improved and what we need to write from scratch. - Write a guide around how to use the xeps and how it all fits together for developers. (possible as a wiki page or a modernxmpp page)

the same applies to servers of course above. this is a draft that i have for my p2p app

yeah like Privacy SIG. But more of Safety/Networks of Consent oriented.

Matrix doesnt do much in that department and irc is irc. Its also one of the reasons the current outrage for Mastodon is happening and people are moving to gotosocial. in my circles at least

we are missing in the messaging space that is. which is part of my motivation

I'd gather some interest on the mailinglist first. Judging from the response that you already got in this room, I'd expect this to be popular.
