MattJ, tmolitor re https://github.com/xsf/xeps/pull/1215/files wrt to the sasl 2 inline stream feature. the text calls the feature <resume/> the eaxmple calls it <sm/> my code currently uses <sm/> I suspect prosody might do so too since I've tested with prosody

  2. Daniel

i don’t dislike <resume/> but it's also been almost a year since i've worked on that so i don’t remember any prior discussions we might had

  3. Zash

I see a `<sm/>` added in a feature advertising clause in the code.

  4. MattJ

    Yep

  5. Daniel

    so text wrong example right?

  6. Zash

Implementation vs specification, who would win?

  7. MattJ

    Implementation, every time :)

  8. Daniel

i mean there is at least one implementation (in development) that uses <resume/> thats how i noticed

  9. Zash

So the text and one implementation vs examples and two implementations?

  10. tmolitor

Well, resume would be in line Witz the Rest of the xep...

  11. Daniel

Yes like I said I don't dislike resume (especially since it somewhat indicates that you can online inline the resume (and need bind to enable))

  12. Daniel

However I think that ship has sailed

  13. Daniel

We now have three implementations (at least) that use sm

  14. Daniel

And it doesn't matter much really...

  15. Zash

Yeah, flip a coin or something to decide :)

  16. Daniel

    i've decided on <sm/>

Have just sent this to members and create the application page for our 2023-2024 board and council elections: another year went by and we have to elect the 2023-2024 XSF Board and Council soon. When you are interested in running for Board (business stuff) or Council (technical stuff) for the 2023-2024 term, please create an appropriate Wiki page by November 5th, 2023, 00:00 UTC and link it from here: https://wiki.xmpp.org/web/Board_and_Council_Elections_2023 When you need to learn more about those roles, then feel free to ask questions on the list, our XSF chatroom, or contact people directly which have been in those roles before. Proxy voting is scheduled to start on November 6th, and we will hold our annual meeting to elect the next XSF Board and Council on November 23nd. The meeting particulars are: Date: 2023-11-23 Time: 19:00 UTC Location: xmpp:xsf@muc.xmpp.org?join
