MattJ, tmolitor: have you seen the feedback for sasl2 wrt missing elements in the xml schema? I can help out with that if neither of you has the time

  4. MattJ

That would be great if you have the time. I saw your email about hints, and I should be able to submit an update this afternoon.

  5. MattJ

So if you haven't got the sasl2 schema by then, I'll probably be able to look into it

  6. Daniel

    does this look alright? https://gultsch.de/files/xep-0388.html#sect-id32

  7. Daniel

singpolyma, I figured that my own PR was a good opportunity to test the apply labels gh action. but it doesn’t work https://github.com/xsf/xeps/actions/runs/8359271538/job/22882250449?pr=1333

  8. Guus

Daniel / singpolyma: that workflow might miss a 'checkout' step

  9. Guus

    Like this: https://github.com/xsf/xeps/blob/master/.github/workflows/xep-validation.yml#L13-L15

  10. Daniel

I ran it locally for fun. "info: XEP-0388 status 'Proposed' needs approvers: 'Council'" <= is this correct? seems like during 'proposed' the author should collect feedback and be able to update the XEP, no?

  11. Hugo

This recent article links to Otalk but Otalk seems to be gone and their website redirects to SimpleWebRtc which has no reference to being open source: https://xmpp.org/uses/webrtc/

  12. Hugo

Oh, I see that DuckDuckGo shows this article as being from "a day ago", but the article itself doesn't have a visible date.

  13. singpolyma

Daniel: thanks for trying I will check the logs in a bit

  14. goffi

Daniel: how can we actually send or receive file via Jingle-FT on Conversations? Do you use jingle-message with it?

  15. Daniel

goffi: no jingle message init (yet?) only direct

  16. goffi

OK, and how do you send a file via Jingle-FT ?

  17. goffi

    I see only upload.

  18. Daniel

The file has to be larger than what ever HTTP upload allows

  19. goffi

oh, it's automatic then. OK thanks.

  20. Daniel

Do you plan on using message init? I would probably at least at receive support for it

  21. goffi

Yes I do use message init.

  22. goffi

Note than on my HTTP Upload Service, it's unlimited (it's using quotas), so Jingle-FT would probably never be used with Conversations.

  23. goffi

From an UX point of view, automatic selection make sense though.

  24. Daniel

On your personal HTTP upload service? Yes maybe but that's probably not a very common configuration

  25. goffi

I think that MattJ is also working on a quota-based service.

  26. tmolitor

Daniel: that would be great, I won't have time to fix it until Saturday

  27. Daniel

    > singpolyma, I figured that my own PR was a good opportunity to test the apply labels gh action. but it doesn’t work https://github.com/xsf/xeps/actions/runs/8359271538/job/22882250449?pr=1333 I tried playing with it some more and it now runs but doesn't seem to have permission to set labels

  28. singpolyma

    hmm

  29. singpolyma

    it has `pull-requests: write` already

  30. singpolyma

    aha https://docs.github.com/en/actions/using-workflows/events-that-trigger-workflows#pull_request_target

  31. singpolyma

Daniel: I think this will fix it https://github.com/xsf/xeps/pull/1334

  32. Daniel

thanks. after some additional minor bug fixes it works now

  33. singpolyma

    yay!

  34. Kev

That was a smart fix, thanks.

  35. moparisthebest

    Excellent

  36. singpolyma

I'm curious if version block is really needed in this case, since it's experimental and there is no normative change

  37. moparisthebest

Well the script can't decide editorial or not, imho it applies the tag and editor decides to ignore it or not

  38. Daniel

are you talking about https://github.com/xsf/xeps/pull/1333 ? it has a version block. i don’t know why the script doesn’t pick up on that

  39. singpolyma

    Yeah
