Is there any plan to change the "edit last message" XEP to allow for "edit messages in last time delta"?

The pattern of typing a message followed by a second message consisting of solely emojis to accompany the previous message, seems to standard to me and "edit last message" is totally broken for that

Does anyone recall the blog or mailing list post or whatever where they gave up on a client/server chat client architecture? I swear it was telepathy but I can't find it now

As someone who has recurring dreams about bringing telepathy back, that's a great post about lessons learned and what not to do

on of course "start from what you actually need" seems obvious in hindsight, but yeah, very easy to go the other way because it seems fun at the time

Swift was written with a disconnect between the logic and the UI (and multiple UI implementations), but it was in the same process, not a service.

Yeah. I've learned the hard way there is only one way to get anything done: and that's to do it yourself :P

I think we (Gajim) will change that in the future
