    > nicola: to me, your points 5-7, and what emus just said, summarize to: >> maybe more $things will happen with an EU presence > Do we have concrete examples of those $things and why they have a better chance of happening if we are officially in EU vs now? This is the part I'm missing still. moparisthebest, You should read the entire thread email you miss. Some things are clear, others are explainable, and some are unexplainable; you may agree or disagree.

Does other clients sending `<query xmlns='http://jabber.org/protocol/disco#info'/>` on my every reconnect indicate that my client implements `<c xmlns='http://jabber.org/protocol/caps' ...>` incorrectly? Or is this normal behaviour?

just a reminder that you applicaiton deadline comes closer. When you are a XSF member that needs to reapply then please take some time to create your application page at: https://wiki.xmpp.org/web/Membership_Applications_Q3_2024 Thanks

moparisthebest: My point is less about the active things, more about representing. We agreed to sign the open letter. as a non-eu organsiation. It would have a different pace if we also would have an European office I believe. > The XSF mind you, not members. That's an opinion and not true. I have always look at the organisation as a whole. Don't know where you take this from. And looking at the members background would potentially support that we should have an office in EU.

    Alex: Thanks!

kurisu, you might want to look at the debug of such other clients, it’s very well possible that you messed up something. Do they also request the disco#info with a 'node' attribute before, and you reply something wrong?

  10. kurisu

Yes, I send presence with <c>, then they request disco with 'node', I reply. But then after I reconnect and send a presence with the same <c>, they request disco again. That seems strange because I have tested my verification string generation to match the XEP examples exactly.

  11. Link Mauve

Do they log anything about mismatched hash?

  12. kurisu

I didn't run them myself yet, just observing other people's clients. But ok I guess it must be my mistake somewhere. I was just wondering if maybe such repeated requests are normal.

Also I'm not sure what you mean by the second bit, it's not an opinion or a slight at anyone or anything. I'm legitimately asking what opportunities are closed to the XSF now that will open up if it moves to EU. The XSF is not a contractor that takes on contracts, right? So if there are such things only available in EU that has no bearing on the XSF's decision.
